Présentation de l’entreprise

Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is an international charity, headquartered at Jersey Zoo in the Channel Islands, dedicated to saving species from extinction. Founded in 1959 by author and conservationist Gerald Durrell, the Trust operates in 18 countries worldwide, delivering over 50 active conservation programmes.

Durrell works closely with local communities and partners to rebuild damaged ecosystems through reforestation, the removal of invasive species, and the restoration of key native species and ecological functions. This approach fosters more diverse and resilient landscapes that benefit both wildlife and people.

Through its conservation academies in Jersey and Mauritius, Durrell delivers specialist training to conservationists and partner organisations in priority regions. Over the past 40 years, the Academy has trained more than 7,000 conservation practitioners from over 150 countries.

Approche managériale

The ReWild Our World strategy sets out our vision for a wilder, healthier, more colourful world. To achieve this, we aim to not only recover threatened species but also to restore ecosystems and reconnect people to nature. Our work will focus on the long-term restoration of ten priority ecosystems around the world (our rewilding sites), each of which includes one or more rewilding programmes. In addition, our influence will extend beyond these sites through the work of our global programmes. For more information check out the ReWild Our World strategy brochure by following the link below.
