Senior System Engineer

Mission principale

As a Senior System Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of the critical server, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery infrastructure that underpins our payment operations. We are looking for a highly autonomous and experienced engineer who can proactively ensure the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of our production environment, while providing technical leadership and driving automation across the infrastructure.

Responsabilités clés

• Own the administration, performance, and reliability of IBM AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, and VMware environments, including capacity planning, tuning, and health checks.
• Manage core infrastructure platforms – Dell Storage (SAN/NAS), IBM Power and HP servers, and Tape Libraries – overseeing lifecycle, firmware, and vendor support.
• Administer high-availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions (Veritas Cluster Server, NetBackup, Veeam, RecoverPoint), and lead periodic DR simulations, failover/failback testing, and RTO/RPO compliance.
• Support Active Directory, SMTP/messaging services, monitoring platforms (Zabbix, Centreon), and middleware environments (JBoss, Oracle WebLogic).
• Lead patch and vulnerability management across all operating systems, applying security updates and remediation in line with audit and compliance requirements.
• Enforce system hardening, security standards, and ICT policies, supporting audits and investigating security incidents.
• Design and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve system resilience.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, lead root cause analysis, and drive incident, problem, and change management, including on-call support.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation and asset inventories, and contribute to infrastructure projects and technology upgrades.

Job Requirements The ideal candidate will have: • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum 7 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure administration, preferably in a senior role. • Strong hands-on expertise in Linux/Unix administration, particularly IBM AIX, RHEL, and Oracle Linux. • Solid experience with VMware, storage, backup, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions. • Working knowledge of Active Directory, monitoring tools, middleware, and patch and vulnerability management. • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Shell, Python) to improve operational efficiency. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the autonomy to own critical production systems. • Good communication and collaboration skills, and availability to participate in on-call support.
