Key responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance Java applications using the Spring framework.
- Translate complex business requirements into robust and maintainable technical solutions.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Leverage Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
- Design and optimize database schemas and integrations using Hibernate/JPA.
- Debug, test, and support applications across development, staging, and production environments.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, QA, DevOps, and Business stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure application scalability and reliability.
- Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Mentor and guide development teams while promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Produce and maintain technical architecture documentation, design specifications, and implementation guidelines.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, cloud-native trends, and software engineering innovations.
- Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Strong experience in Java development and enterprise application architecture.
- Expertise in the Spring ecosystem including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture principles.
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational database technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Knowledge of performance optimisation, scalability, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
