Key responsibilities

Lead a portfolio of audit engagements across different industries and complexity levels.
Oversee audits from planning and execution through review and completion.
Manage multiple engagements, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are achieved.
Review audit files, financial statements and significant accounting and audit judgements.
Resolve complex technical matters and provide guidance to the audit team.
Build strong relationships with clients, management and senior finance stakeholders.
Coordinate audit work between the Mauritius and Malta teams.
Manage engagement resourcing, work allocation, budgets, recoverability and profitability.
Maintain high standards of IFRS, ISA, independence, professional scepticism and audit quality.
Recruit, coach and develop audit professionals across different levels.
Identify training needs and support the development of future managers and leaders.
Contribute to performance reviews and career-development discussions.
Help establish effective audit processes, systems, methodologies and quality controls in Mauritius.
Identify opportunities to improve audit delivery through technology, automation and data analytics.
Support the expansion of the Mauritius team's capabilities and the complexity of work it handles.
Work with Malta leadership to establish appropriate KPIs and performance targets.
Help shape the culture and professional reputation of the Mauritius office.

Key skills

Unrestricted right to work in Mauritius without employer sponsorship
Recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent.
University degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
8–10 years of professional audit experience, ideally within a Big4, international or established mid-tier accounting firm.
Career progression to Senior Manager level or equivalent.
Strong experience managing several audit engagements and teams simultaneously.
Advanced knowledge of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
Experience reviewing complex financial statements and resolving technical audit/accounting matters.
Strong understanding of audit planning, risk assessment, execution, completion and financial reporting.
Proven experience managing senior client relationships.
Strong people-management, coaching and mentoring capabilities.
Experience managing engagement budgets, deadlines and overall economics.

This is a senior role for an audit professional with strong IFRS and ISA expertise, extensive engagement-management experience and a proven ability to lead teams. Working closely with audit leadership in Malta, you will help develop Mauritius into a high-quality audit delivery centre while building the local team, strengthening processes and supporting the firm's international growth.
