Key responsibilities

  • Data ModellingCreate and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical models using ER, dimensional, and Data Vault frameworks.
  • Functional AnalysisTranslate business requirements into data mapping and transformation rules.
  • ETL/ELT CollaborationWork with engineers to implement models and validate logic in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Data GovernanceMaintain metadata, dictionaries, and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Stakeholder CommunicationBridge business and technical teams, using Jira and Confluence for Agile delivery.
  • Continuous ImprovementApply best practices and stay updated on modelling and cloud technologies.
  • Key Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
  • Foundations in data modelling (ER, dimensional, normalization).
  • Good understanding of functional requirements gathering and mapping.
  • Knowledge of:
  • Python (data transformation logic)
  • PySpark (distributed compute basics)
  • SQL (querying, transformation logic)
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline orchestration.
  • Exposure to modelling tools (PowerDesigner, ERWin, Lucidchart, dbt).
  • Basic knowledge of databases (SQL & NoSQL) and cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Experience with Agile toolsJira, Confluence Functional Skills
  • Ability to understand business processes, data flows, and KPIs.
  • Experience documenting functional rules, data mappings, and use cases.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Experience/Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related fields.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, functional analysis, or data management.
  • Exposure to ETL/ELT and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Experience with Python or PySpark is an advantage.
