Manager - Credit Risk

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate loan applications from individuals, corporates, SMEs, and policyholders, including review of financial statements, bank statements, credit bureau reports, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct affordability, repayment capacity, risk grading, and overall credit assessments, and prepare comprehensive credit assessment reports and recommendations.
• Approve credit facilities within delegated authority limits and recommend larger facilities to the appropriate approval committees.
• Develop and maintain robust credit risk assessment methodologies while monitoring credit exposure, concentration risks, lending limits, and the Group's risk appetite.
• Monitor the quality and performance of the loan portfolio, including delinquency, arrears, non-performing loans, and default trends, and recommend appropriate corrective and risk mitigation measures.
• Prepare regular portfolio quality and credit risk reports for Senior Management, the Board, and relevant committees.
• Develop, review, and update credit policies, procedures, underwriting standards, and lending guidelines in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Ensure efficient and effective credit processes and contribute to the development and implementation of new lending products.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, AML and KYC requirements, and support internal and external audits relating to credit operations.
• Prepare and submit reports and information required by Management, auditors, regulators, and Board Committees.
• Foster a strong culture of accountability, prudent risk management, compliance, and customer service excellence.
• Profile:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, MBA would be an advantage.
• Minimum 8-10 years' experience in credit risk management, lending, or banking operations, including 3-5 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge in consumer lending, mortgage lending, vehicle financing, SME lending, or policy loans will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and credit portfolio management.
• Strong knowledge of credit analysis and financial statement interpretation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship building skills and
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
