You will be the founding force behind a comprehensive Data Warehouse solution, turning raw data streams from our product, marketing, and business operations into clean, reliable, and insightful data assets. Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering , you will partner with Marketing, Product, and Growth teams to build scalable analytics foundations that power data-driven decisions across the entire company. 💼 Key Responsibilities - Architecting and building iubenda’s Data Warehouse from scratch - defining the overall data architecture, modeling conventions, governance standards, and a scalable technical stack that can grow with the company. - Designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines (dbt) that ingest, transform, and serve raw event logs, product data, and third-party sources as canonical, reliable datasets. - Owning the Marketing Analytics data engineering domain : owning the data pipelines and configuration of backend and frontend SDKs and middleware elements that lead data to advertising platforms and iubenda data warehouse, enabling the measurement of campaign performance, attribution, funnel conversion, and A/B testing. - Building foundational data infrastructure that empowers Data and Revenue Analysts from Finance, Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to independently build dashboards, explore data, and make informed decisions utilizing tools like PowerBI. - Establishing high data integrity standards, SLAs, alerting mechanisms, and documentation practices to ensure timely, accurate, and trustworthy data delivery across all consumers. - Defining and executing the strategic roadmap for data foundations and analytics capabilities, translating stakeholder needs into prioritised technical requirements, and serving as the internal technical thought leader for data modeling, ETL processes, and the modern data stack. - Partnering with Engineering and Product to understand how users interact with iubenda’s products, instrumenting data pipelines correctly from the source, and transforming event logs into insightful data marts. - Becoming the internal expert on iubenda’s data architecture - owning the full lifecycle from data instrumentation to production-ready, reporting-grade datasets compatible with existing finance and group-level data schemas. 👤 Your Profile You have experience in scale-up environments (SaaS experience is a plus) and a proven track record of building data infrastructure from an early stage. You combine deep technical data engineering skills with a strong ability to understand business needs - especially across Marketing, Finance, and Product. You take ownership, move fast, and don’t let perfect be the enemy of effective. 💡 Experience & Skills • 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a SaaS scale-up, and strong exposure to Analytics needs from stakeholders. • Deep expertise in SQL and Python for transforming raw data into clean, accurate, and performant data models. • Proven track record of architecting and building a Data Warehouse or analytics infrastructure from scratch, including data modeling standards, governance frameworks, and the definition of a modern data stack. • Strong expertise in Marketing Analytics is required. Topics like hands-on integration with marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) are important, while attribution modeling, funnel analysis, and campaign performance are a plus. • Proficiency in dbt for building and managing multi-layer data transformations (staging, intermediate, and mart layers), including testing and documentation. • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or equivalent platforms. • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data warehouses: e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. • Experience enabling the construction of insightful dashboards and self-serve reporting in visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar for Data Analyst partners. • Ability to define and execute a strategic roadmap for data foundations - setting technical priorities, establishing data governance, and driving best practices across the organisation. • A “full-stack mindset”: not hesitating to do what it takes to solve a problem end-to-end, even if it goes outside the original scope. • A strong bias for action and the ability to thrive in ambiguity, taking initiative to create clarity and forward progress. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. 🌐 Location At iubenda we believe in remote-first work. While you can work from anywhere in Mauritius, we encourage regular in-person collaboration at our Port Louis office, typically once per week.
